ArtCheval des écoliers offers students in Saumur and the surrounding area an exceptional space for encounters and the discovery of contemporary art. It is a true creative space guided by the artist Camille Bellot, who participated in the ArtCheval residency in 2021, in partnership with the Bouvet Ladubay Contemporary Art Center and the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud.
Around a gigantic steed, the students spun, wove, winnowed, embroidered, sewed, assembled, to create the caparison of this colossal horse.
You can admire the “Garment” exhibition at the Théâtre le Dôme in the Galerie Molière from October 18 to November 16, 2025.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 15pm to 18pm, Wednesday from 10am to 18pm and during shows. Closed on Thursdays.
120 students participated in the project, thanks to the Hautes Vignes, Alexandre Pain, Yvonne Lombard, Saint-Louis and Abbaye schools.
