Carriage Driving Competition: How it Works

Often likened to eventing in equestrian sports, the discipline is based on three complementary events which value the technical skill, endurance and sporting excellence of the competitors.

Le dressage opens the competition with a test of harmony and finesse, during which the drivers present a performance scored on the quality of the gaits, the impulsion, the style, the presentation of the team and the precision of the driving.

Le marathonThe highlight of the competition is a timed course across varied terrain, punctuated by spectacular obstacles. It tests the speed, agility, and physical capabilities of the horses, as well as the skill of the driver.

Finally, the test of maneuverability It requires concentration and composure from competitors through a course of gates marked by cones topped with balls, which must be passed through without error and within a limited time.
